Why you want to watch: Cosmic freak outs in the desert.
Details: The video was directed by Eliot Lee Hazel and Petecia Le Fawnhawk, who have worked with artists such as Interpol, Beck and White Lies. The Acid’s debut, Liminal, was one of my favorites of 2014.

Song: “Capitol” – Black Marble Remix
Why You Want to Listen: New York’s Black Marble adds a bit more twinkle to the song, blending in the vocals differently.
Details: “Capitol” is off TR/ST’s latest, Joyland, Robert Alfons’ first TR/ST album without original member, Maya Postepski.

Song: “Dolphin Smiles”
Why you want to watch: Seagulls. So many seagulls.
Details: Darrin Wiener and Jeremiah Green, who write music for all kinds of things, but also for themselves; Green is the drummer for Modest Mouse.

Artist: Little Boots
Song: “Taste It”
Why you want to watch: Creepy use of food, body parts and scissors.
Details: First track from Little Boots’ upcoming EP, Business Pleasure; Little Boots has sung with Gary Numan; Little Boots said, “NO MODELS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS VIDEO.”

Some of Holograms‘ video for “Luminous” reminds me very much of Seattle – all those trees and greenery. The Swedish band was here in December (without that cute parrot featured briefly), and I do hope they return. They’ve got a monstrously good sound.

Another video, “Dead Eye,” with some cool landscapes comes from Middle Class Rut. Very literally cool; it’s Alaska. I’ve only seen this duo once (gosh they look different now) but would absolutely catch them again. The tour gods were cruel to me as I just missed them in early March, but they’re touring all over the States right now.
