Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna headlined at the Crocodile Café in front of a packed, enthusiastic crowd.  The Seattle stop was one of many on her US mini-tours to promote her latest album, Y5, the fifth in the series released this year.  Accompanied by Pierre on keys, Yuna played guitar on several songs.

Ah yeah! Party Over Here tour from Atmosphere??? Minneapolis’s duo of hip hop mega proportions visited Seattle on October 12th to headline Showbox SoDo. This year, they released GodLovesUgly Reprise: The Anniversary Collection, while the sweet “Sculpting With Fire” hit the internet as well. Last year’s WORD? was well-received and has one of the coolest album covers in recent memory, also, remember, as they tell us in that album’s Track “Fleetwood,” There’s no winners at the ass-kissing contest. Love it!

Canadian artist Jessie Reyez headlined at the Paramount Theater in Seattle – just one stop on her 29-date North American The YESSIE Tour.  The 4x Juno Award winner is supporting her recently released sophomore album with the same name.  In addition to a huge amount of emotion and energy onstage, Jessie had a lot of interaction with the audience.  A little girl on her mother’s shoulders requested a song and sang part of it with Jessie at the edge of the stage.  And a front row fan gave Jessie a poster board and Sharpie, then asked her to sketch her next tattoo.

The infinitely awesome My Chemical Romance headlined the Tacoma Dome (that’s a huge venue right near Seattle). While MCR fans are always hungry for MORE MCR, that hunger got some satiation when the band got back together a few years ago. But then COVID-19 forced the cancellation of reunion shows. Finally September & October 2022 saw MCR return with a Thank You! tour, including two hometown shows in Newark, New Jersey. Cool happiness has ensued. The excellent new track “The Foundations of Decay” is beautiful. Thank you, MCR. And thank you to photographer Monica Martinez for the arty film snaps.

Why You Want to Watch: Stokes said the video was “inspired by Alice in Wonderland and the idea of falling down the rabbit hole.” I can get behind that! I love everything about this video: the animal masks, Stokes herself, the party they all have. Special praise for director of photography Justin Kaminuma, who made a really cool hazy atmosphere. Click on the above link or the photo to watch the video & Happy Halloween!
