Soulful R&B singer-songwriter Sabrina Claudio brought her Based On A Feeing global tour to the Moore Theater. The show had a dramatic beginning when the center stage door opened and she made her grand entrance. The four-member backing band performed flawlessly on the second show of the tour. At one point, Sabrina received flowers from an admirer in the audience.

Pop duo KTJ & Carly performed at Chop Suey near the end of their west coast tour. The LA-based identical twins – Katie on keys and Carly on guitar and bass – performed songs from their new EP, Ego Death. The pair’s rich harmonies were a standout among all the performers that evening.

Hoodie Allen made an appearance in Seattle midway through his With or Without You summer tour. The August 13th show, held at the Crocodile, naturally included his latest track, “Call Me Never,” plus the song “Champagne and Pools.” Sounds pretty damn good right about now! The rapper has four self-released albums to his credit, and it’s great to see him back. Belaganas, a hip-hop trio from Arizona opened the night.

Fresh off the release of a well-received Unlimited Love and a couple months before Return of the Dream Canteen, the always magical Red Hot Chili Peppers came to Seattle as headliners of T-Mobile Park. These guys are busy! The orange and yellow psychedelic swirls in these photos are gorgeous. Look for Red Hot Chili Peppers to receive the Global Icon Award at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 28th, setting them nicely next to Foo Fighters, who won that award last year.

Cool Cover: Fancey’s Star Dreams
Artist: Fancey
Album: Star Dreams
Details: The New Pornographers’ guitarist Todd Fancey has a solo project! Did you know? Star Dreams is the fifth album from Fancey, which got some great artwork from Antoine Diligent, who thought up an intergalactic blue flower with a rainbow and stars streaming out of it. Beautiful.
