Seattle-based singer/songwriter Isabella Kay‘s music offers real life experiences that connect with her listeners’ emotions. With nearly 400k streams on her release “Under Your Skin”, she is quickly gaining a dedicated fan base. This was evident during her recent performance at Club Sur for Seattle Minifest, where she showcased her rich and diverse vocals and commanding stage presence. In my well-founded opinion, expect to see Isabella on American Idol in the not-too-distant future.

Swedish singer-songwriter Winona Oak opened for Oh Wonder at the Showbox SoDo in Seattle. Oak and her two-member backing band performed songs from her debut studio album Island of the Sun, scheduled to be released next month.

Boy Harsher, the electronic duo from Georgia also known as Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller, headlined the Crocodile on April 15th. It was one of the first shows to get the Boy Harsher world tour on its way. In other Boy Harsher news: getting so much inspiration from film, it probably didn’t come as a surprise to many fans when they directed and released a film called The Runner and its accompanying soundtrack. You can check out the horror film on Shudder. Boy Harsher returns to Seattle for Cuff Pride Festival on June 24th.

Film School w/somesurprises & Fotoform @ the Tractor – 4/28/22

San Francisco’s Film School played a small number of shows early this spring. With album six, We Weren’t Here, ready for live shows since its September 2021 release, several original Film School band members returned to West Coast stages! The Seattle date, which had been rescheduled due to COVID-19, took place at the Tractor Tavern on April 28th. Two Seattle bands, somesurprises and Fotoform opened.
