Photos: AWOLNATION @ the Paramount

AWOLNATION‘s new album, Run, hit number 17 on the Billboard Charts this year. This fact showed how much the band increased its fanbase from that number 84 spot back in 2011. Now, it’s not all about the numbers, but man! Great job! And it proves that bands, such as AWOLNATION, with sounds outside of set genre conventions can do very well. Fans in Seattle packed the Paramount Theatre at the end of October to catch the group’s set. Meg Myers opened.

Music: The Royal Headache’s “Another World”

Artist: The Royal Headache
Song: “Another World”
Why You Want to Listen: Excellent punk song from Sydney, Australia’s the Royal Headache. A band whose members go by the names Law, Shogun, Joe and Shortty (okay, Joe’s not so peculiar), has to be good. And that’s the truth. Track comes off the Royal Headache’s second release, High.

“I was born in 96 and I like pie.” That’s a quote from Soren Bryce, a young Texan singer-songwriter. We support an endorsement for pie, and recommend Bryce. After moving to Los Angeles at the age of 14, Bryce has a wide variety of music interests; Bryce mentions twenty one pilots as an artist she’d like to collaborate with. That would be cool! Enjoy some photos by Kirk Stauffer of her November Seattle appearance:

Photos: Mr Little Jeans @ the Crocodile

You’ll probably assume the moniker Mr Little Jeans applies to a man, but Mr Little Jeans is actually Norwegian singer-songwriter Monica Birkenes. And why not select a name from the film Rushmore? Mr Little Jeans worked with producer Lester Mendez (Dane Oh Land’s producer) on her debut, Pocketknife. When she played the Crocodile in November, we got photographer Kirk Stauffer in to capture this:
