Pop/country singer-songwriter Ellee Duke opened for LeAnn Rimes at the Emerald Queen Casino last week. The stop in Tacoma was near the midpoint in their Today Is Christmas Tour. Ellee grew up in Utah and has since moved to Nashville to pursue her dream. She accepted a Songwriting/Artist development deal with Big Machine Music and is currently working on her debut album. With a beautiful voice, a knack for writing memorable songs, and loads of determination, the talented Ellee Duke is bound to make it big. Be sure to catch her the next time she plays in the Seattle area.

Natalie Prass and her band recently played at Neumos near the tail end of her US tour. Natalie was my “Best New Find” at SXSW in Austin this past March and I was thrilled to see her again in Seattle. She started her career as the keyboardist in Jenny Lewis’ band. Her self-titled debut album was released earlier this year and a new EP, Side by Side, is due out in a few weeks. During one song in her set, Natalie stepped off the stage and went out into the audience to perform. Nashville-based Promised Land Sound and Seattle artist Maiah Manser opened.
