Look at that massive, futuristic headdress! That can only mean one thing: Australia’s Empire of the Sun. Marymoor Park had the group play its outdoor stage in September, and Empire of the Sun gave a complete show with lasers and dancers. And now. . . photos by Casey Brevig:

Chvrches – the Scottish band fronted by Lauren Mayberry, and flanked by Iain Cook and Martin Doherty – played at a very packed Paramount Theatre on October 14th. The band tours extensively and performs at all the large festivals worldwide. Their latest album, Every Open Eye, came out in September and has already had three singles released from it. Mansionair, a trio from Australia, opened.

Rixton opened for Ariana Grande at KeyArena on a lovely spring evening. Straight out of Manchester, England, Rixton hit # 1 in the UK with the song “Me and My Broken Heart,” and have a debut album called Let the Road (which is very cool). This pop/R&B quartet better get back to the States soon!

Why You Want to Listen: Tiësto and Oliver Heldens work together = the result is magical. The two Dutch electronic producers have a great song in “Wombass,” coming from Tiësto’s label, Musical Freedom.

Asking “I suppose a rock’s out of the question?,” Def Leppard propositioned fans at White River Ampitheatre on September 16th. The Sheffield, England hard rock legends finally released a self-titled album this year, and are working on a cartoon! The continually excellent band, nominated for numerous awards, has maintained a relatively consistent lineup. Classic rock groups Styx and Tesla opened.
