Artist: Clark
Song: “To Live and Die in Grantham”
Why You Want to Watch: As directed by Christopher Hewitt, this guy in the video is having too much fun, and he’s got some fancy dance moves.
Details: Electronic artist Clark visited Seattle twice in 2015. Not sure how, but I managed to miss both shows! I am sure he will return. Signed to Warp Records, Clark (AKA Chris Clark), shared Flame Rave this year.
Photos: Van Halen @ White River Ampitheatre
Naturally Van Halen would play one of the Northwest’s big venues when they hit Washington State – that’s just a given. This time the rock band performed at White River Ampitheatre, giving fans the chance to enjoy some outdoor vibes. The big news in 2015 for Van Halen was the tour, which actually kicked off in July at White River, and now winds down on October 2nd in Hollywood. That’s a huge tour! The other news is all the cool remasters of a large number of VH albums.

Photos: Motopony, Big Harp & the Owl Parliament @ the Showbox
Seattle’s Motopony played a big, local and headlining show at the Showbox this summer. 2015 year has been huge for them with the release of Welcome You, a spot at Bumbershoot, and now a bunch of October dates in New York. Well done! Big Harp (ooh, they come back to Seattle on November 13th) and the Owl Parliament were also on the bill.

Photos: Bumbershoot – Day 1 w/Fitz and the Tantrums, Babes in Toyland, Raz Simone & More
Photographers Simon Krane and Kirk Stauffer got through the Bumbershoot, day one thunderstorm! For the final installment of the day’s coverage, we’ve got photos of Fitz and the Tantrums, Babes in Toyland, Raz Simone, Deep Creep, and On and On. All great bands to get on the bill, Babes in Toyland made a rare appearance after reuniting just this year. Deep Creep is also a reunion of sorts, with two Pretty Girls Make Graves members in it.

Show Preview: Uncle Acid and the deadbeats @ El Corazon, Sat. 9/26
The lusciously dark and hypnotic Uncle Acid and the deadbeats make only their second appearance in Seattle on Saturday, September 25th. From Cambridge, England, Uncle Acid and the deadbeats have been described as psychedelic, doom metal. . . take your pick, but they go beyond that. With three albums each utilizing different themes (Blood Lust: witch-hunter Matthew Hopkins, Mind Control: cults, and The Night Creeper: killers), they also have a pretty much impossible to find work called Volume 1. Each album is fantastic rock, and even though Uncle Acid and the deadbeats’ popularity has been slow going (I can’t explain this), they’re really a band you should get to know.
