Why You Want to Listen: Seattle’s Bigfoot Wallace & His Wicked Sons play mighty fine “dirty garbage trash music,” as they describe it. I have yet to see BW&HWSs live, but am into them. And yes, there is a Christmas song from the band!

Self-styled badass country outlaw, Nikki Lane, recently returned to Seattle to headline at Neumos. It was good to see her and her band play again, just two months after their performance at Bumbershoot. Frequently on the road, Nikki is touring in support of her most recent release, All or Nothing.

It was a musical evening with four Seattle bands at Neumos. Bod, Draemhouse, and Midnight Fortress opened – then Thunderpussy took the stage. Molly Sides (vocals), Whitney Petty (guitar), Leah Julius (bass), and Lena Simon (drums) all put on a rocking, dancing, theatrical performance the audience loved. Two dancers and band members being lifted overhead by crowd underscored the fun.

Making the Continental United States trek from Florida to the West Coast, Kat Dahlia visited the Crocodile on December 11th. The Miami born singer-songwriter, acclaimed for her music and lyrics plus her rhymes (those raps!), Dahlia now makes her home in Los Angeles. On her debut album, My Garden, she worked with a few producers, including Salaam Remi. You may recognize that name from his work with Nas, or Amy Winehouse, or Jordin Sparks, among others.
Andie Case, a local artist from Marysville, WA, opened the evening. You can hear several of Case’s songs on her ReverbNation; she also did a cool cover of Justin Bieber’s “Sorry.” Case has appeared in Teen Vogue, and we’re looking forward to more from her in 2016!
