DJ Shadow hit the Showbox Market last Tuesday, along with what appears to be a gigantic DJ booth in the varying guises of a disco ball, golf ball or Rover from the Prisoner. Pretty cool stuff. I’m thrilled to post some of Alex Crick‘s photos from the night! By the way, DJ Shadow’s new CD is slated for a 2011 release.

Pigeon John opened for DJ Shadow the other night at the Showbox Market. Judging by how he’s sounding I’d expect he’ll be headlining all over. Click here to listen to “The Bomb” and “Before We’re Gone” – quite awesome. Photographer Alex Crick went to the show and captured some shots of the Californian rapper in action.
Tim & Eric Awesome Tour, Great Job! Chrimbus Spectacular 2010
The first stop on the Tim & Eric Awesome Tour, Great Job! Chrimbus Spectacular 2010 happened last night at the Showbox SoDo.
For those that love the absurdist comedic duo’s show on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, last night’s show didn’t disappoint. In fact, it may even serve as a good introduction to those not already indoctrinated with the show’s humor.
The show kicked off with Gregg Turkington’s stand-up comedian persona Neil Hamburger which would certainly remind my parents of Andy Kaufman’s Tony Clifton:
Immediately following Neil, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim hit the stage, with mixes of pre-taped sketches and live material:
My personal highlight was John C. Reilly’s surprise appearance as Dr. Steve Brule wherein he gave some “Brule’s Rules” to Evan, a girl from the audience:
The musical stylings of Pusswhip Bang Gang closed out the show:
Great Job!
Oh, right, they also had a costume contest:
Enjoy the photos! For your health!

Ingrid Michaelson, flanked by Bess Rogers and Allie Moss, played to a packed crowd at the Showbox Sodo last week. Coincidently, Ingrid’s beau, Greg Lawell, will be in town next Sunday as the headliner at KMTT’s CD release party at EMP.

Kevin May and Mick Lynch of the Guggenheim Grotto opened for Ingrid Michaelson at the Showbox SoDo on Thursday for a nearly sold-out crowd. The Irish band’s third CD, The Universe is Laughing, is out now – get it here.
