Photos: Coldplay & Metronomy @ KeyArena

In one of the biggest concerts of the year, Coldplay and Metronomy played KeyArena on April 25th. Photographer Marcella Volpintesta‘s photos of the event showcase beautifully the wonderful stage design colors and lights, which were based on Tappin Gafton‘s design for the album Mylo Xyloto. Can’t make any of their upcoming shows? Catch Coldplay on American Idol on May 3rd.

Ingrid Michaelson @ Moore Theater

Ingrid Michaelson played a sold out show at the Moore Theater last week. She’s in the middle of her full band tour after a dozen intimate “Pop-Up” Shows earlier this year, with each limited to a few hundred audience members (e.g., Tractor Tavern in February). Flanked by Bess Rogers and Allie Moss on guitar and vocals, the redheaded Michaelson – with her signature glasses – was her usual witty self as she played songs off her latest album, “Human Again”. I’ve had the pleasure of shooting Ingrid’s shows numerous times and this was by far the most entertaining.

Counting Crows were in Seattle on April 13th for a headlining show at Showbox SoDo. Underwater Sunshine (Or What We Did On Our Summer Vacation) is their latest release, an album of material written by such artists as The Faces and Bob Dylan – plus a Travis song, “Coming Around.” Looking good, Counting Crows – thank you to Matthew Lamb for these photos:

The hedonistic and wonderful Andrew W.K. headlined Showbox Market on March 4th, performing in his signature white ensemble. You must love this man – how could you not? Really. Photographer Geoffrey Gribbin captured these shots of what appears to be a smoking hot party. “Party Til You Puke,” indeed. Andrew W.K., please come back soon.
