We’ve got some sigh worthy photos by Kirk Stauffer of A Fine Frenzy, who appeared at City Arts Fest this year in Seattle. A Fine Frenzy, the band moniker of musician Alison Sudol, released album four, Pines in 2012. In addition to writing lyrics, Sudol is also a story writer.

Have you heard the debut album by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds? If you have not, we’re urging you to check it out. The excellent album, produced by Noel Gallagher and Dave Sardy, was released last year with several fantastic singles. There’s also some great trumpet work on the album as well. This year Gallagher won a very special – and entirely appropriate – award for Godlike Genius. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds were here with Snow Patrol, and fingers crossed they will return to the States.

KISW‘s Pain in the Grass 2012 brought The Offspring, Three Days Grace, Chevelle, and others to White River Ampitheatre on September 29th. The annual event always offers a great lineup, and this year was no exception. Thank you to photographer Matt Lamb for these awesome shots!

The genius Palmer gave us Theatre is Evil this year and continues to tour with the Grand Theft Orchestra in the States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The last of the year, Little Big Show 4 at the Neptune Theater was headlined by the folksy Swedish duo First Aid Kit – fronted by sisters Johanna Söderberg (piano) and Klara Söderberg (guitar). The sold-out show raised over $12,000 for local writing center 826 Seattle.
