Band: Pop. 1280
Song: “Pyramids on Mars”
Why You Want to Listen: So dark. So very dark. Such very cool noise. “Pyramids On Mars” is the first track off Pop. 1280’s new album Paradise, which is set for January 2016 release. Have a listen and hear why I love this band.

Sultry singer-songwriter Lera Lynn recently made a stop at the Triple Door in the middle of her North American tour. She’s probably best known for several songs on HBO’s popular True Detective series, and she even has an acting role on the show. Lera’s sophomore album, The Avenues, will be followed up early next year with her third release. After a satisfying set, the audience demanded a rare two encores.

The prolific singer-songwriter released The Monsanto Years, his 36th album this year; he tied in the agricultural theme of the album with his 2015 shows.

A rock band with a lot of love from their home city of Beverly, who declared October 18th “Caspian Day,” Caspian has loyal fans worldwide (including Seattle’s KEXP, who had Caspian over for an in-studio). With Caspian at Barboza was Georgia trio Circle Takes the Square.

Soulful British singer Jack Garratt, on tour with MS MR, recently played an October show at the Neptune Theatre. Although Jack was a one-man show, he had a very rich, full sound while playing piano, guitar and electronic drums. Jack wrote his first song at the age of 12 and will release his debut album, Phase, early next year.
