It was nice to have Toronto-based Jessie Reyez play south of the border on Canada Day. Backed by a DJ, Reyez was wrapping up her North American Kiddo Tour in support of her debut EP, Kiddo, released earlier this year. The all-ages show at the Columbia City Theater was packed. With her signature long curly hair and symbolic red balloon, the singer-songwriter entertained the crowd for nearly an hour. Near the end of her set, Reyez asked that the stage lights be turned off and for the audience to turn on their cell phone lights. Seattle-based R&B/pop singer EMI opened.
