Details: deadmau5, an always brilliantly stunning DJ from Toronto, Canada, headlined WaMu Theater for dates on April 21st and 22nd. After a massive early spring tour, it looks like deadmau5 might have a well-deserved break happening right now. But not for too long, as he’s got appearances set for events such as Creamfields in August. But back to the Seattle dates. . . very happy to report that photographer Kirsey Sutton captured photos of night two, which display the super light show deadmau5 gives (in addition to the awesome music) with his performances. And fans take note: deadmau5 recently put together a wicked mix of 503 songs over on Spotify.

Feed Me, a British DJ, signed to deadmau5’s label, mau5trap, opened.

The Harp Twins – Camille and Kennerly Kitt – played at the Lord Of Life Lutheran Church during a stop in their recent west coast tour. This was the first show in Washington state for the Chicago-based identical twins. The classically trained sisters played primarily classic rock and metal songs (“Stairway To Heaven”, “Paint It Black,” “Don’t Fear The Reaper”) on their acoustic and electric harps. After a brief intermission, the Twins began their second set by switching places on stage – which was not apparent to the great majority of the audience. Adding to their beautiful performance, they gave a witty introduction to each song and explained the many features of their harps. The evening ended with a well-deserved standing ovation.

Country duo Maddie & Tae – Madison Marlow and Taylor Dye – recently played at the Auburn Performing Arts Center. The show was sponsored by KMPS (94.1 FM) and was a benefit for the Auburn Rotary’s college scholarship fund. Backed by a four-member band, the Nashville-based singer-songwriters played songs from their debut, self-titled album plus five new ones. Dylan Jakobsen, originally from Seattle, opened.

Flaming Lips with Klangstof @ the Paramount, Tues. 5/16

The wacky and wonderful psychedelic band Flaming Lips played for an equally loony crowd at the Paramount on Tuesday with a newer band from Holland, Klangstof. I just love seeing the Lips in concert. They make me and everyone else around me laugh. Don’t get me wrong, they are very talented, but a Flaming Lips shows is just so damn fun!

Do yourself a favor. Don’t take the Flaming Lips too seriously (but also take them seriously as artists) and buy their new record, Oczy Mlody.
