Kate Voegele, dressed up as Tinker Bell for Halloween, wowed the crowd at Chop Suey on Capitol Hill last weekend. This was Kate’s second show in Seattle in the past four months – and I hope she doesn’t wait so long until her next visit.
Lenka is one of my favorite Aussie artists and I had the pleasure of shooting her set for the seventh time last Saturday … but who’s counting. Even at five months pregnant, Lenka didn’t miss a beat and was her usual bubbly self at the Showbox SoDo.
Colbie Caillat returned to Seattle for a show on October 7th at Showbox SoDo. The Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter released her third album, All of You, in July 2011. Without further ado, enjoy some lovely shots by Kirk Stauffer:
Moroccan/Parisian musician Hindi Zahra appeared at the Triple Door in Seattle on October 4th. The show was part of Zahra’s first tour of the States. Her American debut album, Handmade is out now. For those of you headed to CMJ, Hindi Zahra plays Hiro Ballroom on October 19th.
Photos of Germany’s Atari Teenage Riot and San Francisco’s Meklit Hadero complete Back Beat Seattle’s coverage of Bumbershoot 2011. Thank you to the wonderful photographers Nicky Andrews, Amber Barni, Simon Krane and Kirk Stauffer for doing such awesome work.
