Icelandic singer/songwriter Laufey brought her Bewitched Tour to the Neptune Theater last week.  The audience sang along on every song while she played guitar, piano and cello.  And at several points in the sold-out show, Laufey was given a stuffed animal and roses.  During the encore, Laufey mentioned that there wasn’t enough time to perform all her favorite songs at each show.  Instead, at the end of her set, she would sing one of them that was only performed in that city.  For Seattle, she chose, “Just Like Chet.”

Details: Evil bunnies? Bloody bunnies? Love the pink noses and the juxtaposition of the fluff and the sharp edges of horns and daggers. The artist is Kristen Ferrell, whose work links in nicely with my most recent cool cover of Pussy Riot’s single, “Bad Trip.” Ferrell is influenced by Hieronymus Bosch, coincidentally. I see that!

Reneé Rapp @ Paramount Theater – 10/7/2023

Singer/songwriter Reneé Rapp brought her Snow Hard Feelings Tour to the Paramount Theater last week.  Her second headlining tour is in support of her recently released debut album, Snow Angel.  The sold-out performance was split into the four seasons with the elaborate set emulating each one.  The two openers joined Reneé during her set – Alexander 23 on “I Wish” and Towa Bird on “23”.
