The always fascinating Sigur Rós was in Seattle for a spring show at the Paramount. We’re already looking forward to the Icelandic band’s 20th anniversary release of their third album, ( ), while they’ll have their final show of the year in Reykjavik on Friday, November 25th. You can livestream that show right over here. They just completed an enormous world tour mid-November, and still they found time to share an adorable tweet of a super cute cat enjoying their music. Let’s Eat Grandma @ Crocodile Café – 11/18/2022

British alternative pop group, Let’s Eat Grandma, headlined at the Crocodile Café in support of their third album, Two Ribbons, released earlier this year. The lively duo – Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth – played a variety of instruments including keys, guitar, saxophone, and xylophone.  Their stage act was equally entertaining, and included their signature crowd-pleaser, playing patty cake.

Moroccan-Canadian pop artist Faouzia performed at Neumos during the North American leg of her 2022 worldwide tour.  She’s on the road with her three-member band in support of her recently released EP, Citizens.  The 22 year-old was listed in Variety’s Artists to Watch for in this year’s Grammys, and has collaborated with Kelly Clarkson and John Legend.

Pop singer Ella Jane headlined at Barboza, during a stop on her North American tour. In the show that sold out months ago, the LA-based artist and her four-member band performed material off her sophomore EP Marginalia plus other favorites.  The audience sang on every song and gave Jane numerous gifts between them.  Singer-songwriter Alix Page opened.

Heaven 17’s Glenn Gregory and Martyn Ware, along with two backup singers Kelly Barnes and Rachel Mosleh, plus synth player Flo Sabeva (she’s also a pianist!) made an incredibly rare appearance in Seattle on October 6th. So rare, in fact, this was part of their debut headlining tour in the US. Gregory and Ware reached fans in the UK starting in the 1980s, beginning with the album Penthouse and Pavement. This is an album everyone should have. How appropriate is it then to take their most famous track off the album “(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang” on the road with the eponymous tour. Only fifteen dates, the tour’s set list featured some of BBS editor’s (that’s Dagmar) and all Heaven 17 fans’ favorite songs: “Let Me Go,” “Come Live with Me,” “Temptation,” “Penthouse and Pavement” and “We Live So Fast.” Classic. Just classic. So here the band is in synth glory as they performed those tracks and more in the last date of their USA/Canada 2022 tour.
