Sarah Harmer performed at one of my favorite venues in Seattle – The Triple Door. Over the background sounds of silverware on plates, she played songs from her new album Oh Little Fire as well as her three previous ones. The audience was even treated to a second encore.

Brittney Bush Bollay caught the Beautiful Girls and Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad at Neumos on Monday night. The bands are finishing their shows together in California, but Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad have a few more West Coast dates at the end of October. I’m enjoying Brittney’s photos – hope you do too!:
If you have yet to see Brent Amaker and the Rodeo, you’re missing out something fierce. This guy has attitude out the ying yang and a lovely female assistant that answers his every whim (for prep on-stage anyway). His sound is exactly as you’d expect; a fun combo of country and rockabilly. It’s not just great music, it’s a full-on show. Definitely check out his next local show. BOAT, a long-time favorite of mine, seems to have blown up in popularity over night. They were a Bumbershoot favorite of many a local music blog this year. For more photos of these and other bands check out the Flickr collection.

The Mynabirds, fronted by Laura Burhenn, recently played a show at the Sunset while touring in support of What We Lose in the Fire We Gain in the Flood.
