Legendary recording artist The Guess Who rocked the first Saturday of the Central Washington State Fair. Playing to a packed audience of fans of all ages, the Winnepeg, Manitoba Canada natives knew how to keep the fans entertained by playing avariety of hits such as “No Sugar Tonight (New Mother Nature),” “These Eyes,” and their most popular hit “American Woman.” This had to be one of my favorite shows out of the 10 day festival even though only two of the original members are still in the band. They knew how to keep the crowd entertained and really enjoyed the fans as well, although a few people were disappointed that Burton Cummings (who went solo) or Randy Bachman (who went on to form Bachman, Turner, Overdrive) wasn’t in the band. Personally, I think Derek Sharp and company did an awesome job. To see more photos of The Guess Who, check out my Flickr gallery.

A capacity crowd enjoyed Das Racist‘s visit to Seattle at the Comet on Friday night. Photographers Brittney Bush Bollay and Dave Lichterman covered the evening’s festivities. Though I had to miss the show I am sure glad they went and got some great evidence. Opening were Mash Hall and Militant Child.

The Like, with members – Elizabeth “Z” Berg (vocals and guitar), Tennessee Thomas (drums), Laena Geronimo (bass), and Annie Monroe (organ) – played for an enthusiastic crowd at The Vera Project (Seattle Center) after making a 24-hour drive from Joshua Tree, CA.

Playing to a packed audience at this years Central Washington State Fair (Yakima, WA) Collective Soul did what they said they were going to do. Rock the audience’s faces off! This marks the first time Collective Soul has played the valley and they made sure not to disappoint the fans. Lead singer Ed Rolland kept the crowd entertained with his Steven Tyler-esque moves by using his microphone as a prop the entire time, while the band played a set list of some of their greatest hits. Here are a few photos from that show. Be sure to check out the flickr gallery, as I will be adding more photos.

The Black Keys came through Seattle with a visit to the Paramount Theater on Saturday evening. The duo, Ohio’s Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, has had great commercial and artistic success with their albums, including this year’s Brothers. Nicole Atkins opened – you can expect a new CD out from her in 2011. Photographer Alex Crick attended the Seattle show and brought back more beauties!:
