Joan Wasser, frontwoman for Joan as Police Woman played to an appreciative crowd at the Columbia City Theater on Friday night. Joan as Police Woman’s latest CD, The Deep Field, is the band’s fourth LP. Wasser chose Joan as Police Woman for her project’s name because she was a fan of Angie Dickinson’s show, Police Woman.

Eisley, fronted by sisters Stacy (keyboards), Sherri (rhythm guitar) and Chauntelle (lead guitar), along with brother Weston (drums) and cousin Garron (bass) – all DuPrees – played at Neumos on Thursday in support of their latest album, The Valley.

On Tuesday night the Comedy Underground held a benefit for Boundless Arts Theatre Company with performances by comedians Jake Barker, Mike Drucker, Heneghen, Barbara Holm, Rylee Newton and Ross Parsons (who hosted the evening). Run by students at the University of Washington, Boundless Arts Theatre Company (BATC) works to provide a creative outlet for foster youth, and its Founding Executive Director, Javonnia Arriaga attended the event.
