Jeff Bridges is the man. No doubt about that. He’s won an Academy Award and is an excellent musician. And just in general people really aren’t made cooler. Bridges performed at Chateau Ste. Michelle on August 28th with a full band – pretty awesome. He released his second album, Jeff Bridges, in August and it features the beautiful song “Tumbling Vine.” Photographer Geoffrey Gribbin caught some beauties of Bridges and band:

Here we go, here we go, here we go. It’s hot out – well, hot for Seattle. 80 mega degrees. Day one of Bumbershoot 2011 struck Seattle with sets from Pickwick, Väsen and Champagne Champagne. I had the treat of back-to-back nights at the Triple Door this past week – Lisa Loeb on Wednesday, then the blonde-haired, blue-eyed Lucy Woodward on Thursday. I saw Lucy for the first time at SXSW 2010 and have caught several of her shows in Seattle since. Always a pleasure.
Lisa Loeb, complete with her signature glasses, played at the Triple Door as part of the Western Arts Alliance festivities in town this week. Lisa’s claim to fame is that she was the first artist to have a #1 single in the United States while not signed to a recording contract. That single was “Stay (I Missed You)” in 1994. Her appearance has hardly changed since the song was released … and that’s a good thing. She hinted she’d be back in Seattle in October.
On August 19th Weezer performed two of their albums, The Blue Album and Pinkerton at the WaMu Theater. Weezer, who is absolutely one of America’s musical treasures, has come up with a clever idea to have The Weezer Cruise, which will travel from Miami to Cozumel January 19th – 23rd.
