Suicide Girls (3 of 14)

Inked Magazine and Suicide Girls joined forces to bring us a 46-stop Blackheart Burlesque tour. Suicide Girls is a 13-year-old site that caters to young, attractive alt-pin-up girls. The photographs on Suicide Girls site are stunning and the entertainers on the tour reflected the pin up photos flawlessly.

Famed choreographer, Manwe Sauls-Addison, who has worked with Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga, created a show that plays tribute to The Planet of The Apes, Star Wars, Kill Bill and many others. The provocative costumes and sexy performances excited the packed Showbox for 2 hours.

Blackheart Burlesque was naughty, bawdy, very irreverent and I loved every minute of it!

Show Review & Photos: ODESZA @ Showbox at the Market

ODESZA @ Showbox at the Market, 10/24/14
Show Review & Photos by Dagmar

It’s about time that electronic music got big in Seattle. Leading this charge of electronic wonders is ODESZA, a duo (Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight) who recently headlined Showbox at the Market for two hugely sold-out dates. I don’t know if the expression “blissed out” is no longer trendy. I don’t care. Because that is what ODESZA’s music does to you.

I caught night two of their evenings at the Showbox, and neither musician showed any sign of fatigue (okay, why should they? but you never know what will happen playing two home nights in a row). There had to be extra stress when playing for people you know. But I could feel the energy and love in that room as the audience danced and images splashed onto the screen behind ODESZA. This duo knows how to blend all their songs oh so well, and I love them.

ODESZA just completed a European tour, and are set for what is basically a world tour next year. You need to experience this band.

Photos: The Blood Brothers @ Showbox at the Market

The Blood Brothers reunited in August for a show at the Showbox. A wicked reunion if there ever was, the Seattle rock band also played shows in other cities in October and November. Who can say if this is a sign of more Blood Brothers – maybe? Maybe? Photographer Monica Martinez joined the sold-out crowd and captured some shots of all the magic:
