I thought the Thermals were quite incredible when they played the 2011 Sasquatch! Music Festival announcement party earlier this year. The trio will be at the festival itself on May 28th – before you see them there, learn how the Thermals pamper pets. I think you can try these techniques at home.

A belated happy St. Patrick’s Day to you! Staind’s Aaron Lewis played a show at Snoqualmie on St. Patty’s as part of his solo tour. Lewis’ voice actually really suits country music – check out “Country Boy” (but a war is known to change a man, and the whiskey’s known to change a man/but that’s not me/I rarely drink from the bottle/but I’ll smoke a little weed). His debut solo CD, Town Line, is out now. Matthew Lamb checked out the show and got some beauties featuring the American Flag:

Photos: Adam Carolla @ the Moore Theatre

The Moore Theatre had comedian Adam Carolla on their stage last Friday night. Carolla’s got his own podcast, is a father of twins and was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars. Interesting guy. I used to listen to Loveline all the time – I sure miss him on that show, but hearing Carolla on his own is cool too. Photographer Matthew Lamb has contributed some of his photos from Friday, and I’m totally thrilled to see them!

Show Review & Photos: Pacific Dub @ El Corazon

Do you like reggae? Do you love it? You’d probably like this band from Huntington Beach, California called Pacific Dub. They opened for the Dirty Heads last Monday at El Corazon, and I was impressed with their music and liveliness. The audience’s response was completely positive. I couldn’t get any clear shots of their drummer (the curse of the El Corazon pole right in the middle of the stage and all) but I hope to next time – and there has to be a next time they come to Seattle. Can’t wait. There can be something so pleasing about good reggae, and Pacific Dub is that and more.

Saturday night saw The Dismemberment Plan take apart (sorry, I couldn’t resist it) the Showbox SoDo in Seattle. D-Plan’s last release was back in 2003, and they’re always welcome anywhere, anytime to make new music. Although this is not in the cards, plenty of Seattle got to hear their favorites live. Photographer David Lichterman reports back with some super shots of the band, plus of Seattle’s Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band and the Globes.
