Show Review & Photos: EELS & The Submarines @ Showbox at the Market

I’ve loved EELS for a long time.  However, I was a bit skeptical going to seeing them live for the first time because Mark Oliver’s voice is so calm and tranquil.  However, Oliver showed enthusiasm for the music and excitement for the crowd. EELS have their own classic style: mellow at times, but rock ‘n’ roll is always at the heart of their music. If you ever thought you like the EELS even just a little bit, you will be absolutely thrilled by their excellent live performance. Check ’em out!  They’re worth it.

Photos: Bumbershoot 2011 w/ Lemolo

Photographers Simon Krane and Kirk Stauffer caught Lemolo performing at two different locations at Bumbershoot this year. Lemolo is duo Meagan Grandall and Kendra Cox – they begin a West Coast tour on October 12th. They’ll also perform at City Arts Fest on October 22nd in Seattle.

Photos: We Are Augustines @ The Neptune

On September 10th We Are Augustines enchanted us once again with an amazing show at the beautiful, and recently rescued Neptune. Billy McCarthy, lead singer and guitar player is probably the most humble artist I have seen live. You can see and feel his genuine emotion more and more as the show progresses.
