Video: Gavin Magnus‘ “Psycho”
Why You Want to Watch: He’s been getting major attention as a YouTuber and musician. I like the energy of this video. Also Magnus, who’s just sixteen, wears some cool clothes in it. Matt Alonzo directed Magnus in this clip depicting a toxic relationship.

English pop singer Maisie Peters performed at the Showbox in support of her recently released album, The Good Witch. The sold-out show was one of the first stops on her headlining tour. For many in the audience, this was the second time they saw Maisie onstage in Seattle that week – she opened for Ed Sheeran two days earlier at Lumen Field. I first saw Maisie last year at SXSW in Austin and she was clearly my “Best New Discovery” of the festival. For her encore, Maisie returned to the stage in a Seattle Seahawks jersey, much to the delight of the crowd! Singer-songwriter Grace Enger opened.

Bumbershoot Returns – Day 2, September 3rd

The return of Bumbershoot day 2, is nearly upon us. After you’ve taken in bands and stuffed your little happy faces on Saturday, there’s more to do on Sunday, September 3rd. If you didn’t partake on the first day of Bumbershoot, head over to something they’ve named Bumbeershoot. Yes, that’s Bumbeershoot, where you can enjoy some Seattle beers. There’s a wine garden too, if that’s your thing. Don’t worry. Day 2 features the Dandy Warhols, modernlove, Phantogram, Gustaf, Temples and more! Also, Bumbershoot announced its arts and culture schedule. Check it out below. Don’t miss the Cat Circus (both days, all day). Also there’s something called Witch’s Temple. Not sure what that is but I’m all about the witches (both days, all day)

It was great to photograph one of my favorite bands in the 60s and 70s – The Beach Boys! The initially five, now nine-member group, did a great job of preserving those memorable Beach Boys harmonies that started 62 years ago. Original members Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, now in their early 80s, are still going strong and continued to command the stage. Seattle-based drummer Jon Bolton recently joined the band and was enthusiastically welcomed by the hometown audience.
