Walk the Moon‘s performance as openers for Kaiser Chiefs was entirely enjoyable. I am sure this band has visited Seattle before, but this was my first time seeing them. They’re a quartet from Ohio who played a set of danceable and instantly attractive songs, ones that stuck with me in a very good way (have a peek at their video for “Anna Sun” and hear what I mean). Their music just makes me feel happy. If you missed the Seattle show and haven’t seen them live yet you can catch them on Jimmy Fallon tonight! Oh yeah, and they’ll also be at the Sasquatch! Music Festival.

Norah Jones @ SXSW 2012 / La Zona Rosa

I was one of the lucky ones to be in a crowd limited to perhaps 500 fans to hear Norah Jones perform her upcoming album, Little Broken Hearts, in its entirety at La Zona Rosa during SXSW in Austin. “It’s a little scary sharing your thing in front of new people,” she said at one point. “But we’re all friends, right?”

Jones will be at Marymoor Park in Redmond, WA on August 18.

Kelly Clarkson @ ShoWare Center

Kelly Clarkson, American Idol winner during its inaugural season in 2002, brought her Stronger Tour to the ShoWare Center in Kent this week. Clarkson’s powerful soprano voice thrilled the audience of 4000 and had them singing along with her opener, “Darkside,” all the way through her 4-song encore that included the title track of her latest album, Stronger.
