Photos and Review: Aimee Mann & Field Report @ The Neptune

Aimee Mann

Hot off of her new record CHARMER (featuring The shins frontman James Mercer) Aimee Mann thrilled her fans at The Neptune with an intimate performance. She joked about taking requests and the audience took her up on it.

They started yelling every song ever written by Aimee over the past decades. The fun part for me was the back and forth between Aimee and the crowd. It gave the feel of a neighborhood coffee shop performance in Fremont and that’s a very good thing indeed.

Field Report

Field Report was a real suprise for me. I had to keep listening to every word and every note – I wasn’t the only one. The audience went silent and just listened. It was like a cross between Simon and Garfunkel with a reading from James Earl Jones. I was spellbound.

On October 3rd Irish musician Glen Hansard performed at Seattle’s Moore Theater. Hansard, whom you might know better from The Frames or The Swell Season, released his debut solo album, Rhythm and Repose this summer. The Academy Award-winning and fabulous songwriter returns to the States November-December, and we’re thrilled to share photographer Marcella Volpintesta‘s photos from the Seattle date:
