MS MR – the NYC-based duo consisting of Lizzy Plapinger and Max Hershenow – headlined at the Neptune Theatre on October 20th. It was obvious that they were excited to be on stage and kept the energy flowing from the beginning to the end of their set. Lizzy’s stage presence and stunning vocals were a real treat. MS MR’s second full-length studio album, How Does It Feel, was released in July.
Show Preview: Kate Boy @ the Sunset, Wednesday November 18th
Kate Boy, an electronic band based in Sweden, returns to Seattle this Wednesday. The Stockholm group will only make four stops in the States, and Seattle nabbed one of those dates.
This month has been a huge one for Kate Boy, who released its first album, ONE, in early November. Now a duo (Aussie Kate Akhurst and Swede Markus Dextegen), the synth/electronic Kate Boy is always one we’re eager to recommend. After all, if you love some moody melodies, you’re in luck with Kate Boy. The pair will play the Sunset!

The multitalented Hopsin had a headlining gig at the Showbox in mid-September. A rapper who has produced all four of his albums, Hopsin brought with him three artists; Dizzy Wright, DJ Hoppa and Jarren Benton who are also on Hopsin’s music label, Funk Volume. The tour? The Funk Volume 2015 Tour, naturally!

Look at that massive, futuristic headdress! That can only mean one thing: Australia’s Empire of the Sun. Marymoor Park had the group play its outdoor stage in September, and Empire of the Sun gave a complete show with lasers and dancers. And now. . . photos by Casey Brevig:

The band tours extensively and performs at all the large festivals worldwide. Their latest album, Every Open Eye, came out in September and has already had three singles released from it. Mansionair, a trio from Australia, opened.
