Marina and the Diamonds (Marina Diamandis and her four member band) brought their Neon Nature Tour to the Paramount Theatre on October 25th. The show was separated into three acts, each corresponding to one of Marina’s albums. Act 1 was Family Jewels, her first album; Act 2 was Electra Heart, her second; and Act 3 was her latest, Froot. Each had a different theme and Marina wore different outfits. During the 90-minute show, six songs were performed during each act and the encore included “Happy” and “Blue.” French singer-songwriter Héloïse Letissier, whose musical project is known as Christine and the Queens, opened.

Video: Pictureplane’s “Technomancer”

Artist: Pictureplane
Song/Video: “Technomancer”
Why You Want to Listen/Watch: Vampires, a disco ball room and a boa constrictor make appearances in this video. The video has Halloween vibes, but why not watch it all year round?
Details: Chants of “Manipulate your machine, because you’re a technomancer,” go through the song, which is a really cool one. Pictureplane, AKA Travis Egedy, released the Technomancer album in October 2015. He’ll perform at Neumos in Seattle on December 8th.

Oberst, who launched a solo career in 2012 (although he continues as a member of Desaparecidos and Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band), is now taking some much-needed rest. He’s had a busy year! For the Wild Buffalo show, Oberst brought M. Ward, who works with Oberst on many projects.

Mexican band Le Butcherettes made a trip to Seattle to play Chop Suey. The garage group’s September show featured lead singer and guitarist, Teri Gender Bender, in an all red ensemble. They’ve got the seal of approval from none other than Iggy Pop, who appeared on 2015’s A Raw Youth track “La Uva.” Sister Crayon opened.
