Photos: Kat Dahlia & Andie Case @ the Crocodile

Making the Continental United States trek from Florida to the West Coast, Kat Dahlia visited the Crocodile on December 11th. The Miami born singer-songwriter, acclaimed for her music and lyrics plus her rhymes (those raps!), Dahlia now makes her home in Los Angeles. On her debut album, My Garden, she worked with a few producers, including Salaam Remi. You may recognize that name from his work with Nas, or Amy Winehouse, or Jordin Sparks, among others.

Andie Case, a local artist from Marysville, WA, opened the evening. You can hear several of Case’s songs on her ReverbNation; she also did a cool cover of Justin Bieber’s “Sorry.” Case has appeared in Teen Vogue, and we’re looking forward to more from her in 2016!

Photos: Bully @ Barboza

On a visit to Seattle in October, Nashville’s Bully headlined Barboza. Bully’s debut album Feels Like has received awesome reviews, and they’ll begin 2016 with a huge tour. And great job in making the cover of Nashville Scene‘s Year In Music Issue. All Seattle photos by Simon Krane:

Photos: LIGHTS @ Pyramid Alehouse

Canadian electro-pop artist LIGHTS and her band recently played at the 18th annual Snow Cap Party at the Pyramid Alehouse in Seattle. This was one stop on their co-headlining tour with the Mowgli’s. As always, LIGHTS mingled with the crowd and during one song she was given a nice drawing from a fan. In the middle of their set, they slowed it down with several seated acoustic songs.

LIGHTS has visited the Seattle area several times, including a much-loved set at Bumbershoot in 2012. Singer-songwriter Valerie Poxleitner-Bokan has fine tuned her live performance, which, from the beginning has been appealing. Exquisitely tattooed, including one tattoo in German (‘Jetzt und immer die Segen von der Vater und bleibst Unschuldig bis Er kommt), Poxleitner-Bokan’s voice always meshes with her likewise charming songs. New mom Poxleitner-Bokan and her band completed the tour just yesterday!

Photos: Mowgli’s @ Pyramid Alehouse Snow Cap Party

Hailing from California, the Mowgli’s played the 18th annual Pyramid Alehouse Snow Cap Party in Seattle. They are currently on tour co-headlining with LIGHTS in support of their third album, Kids in Love, released earlier this year. Five of the seven members sang and offered up some great harmonies. Probably best known for their song “San Francisco,” which reached #13 on Billboard’s alternative chart a few years ago.
