Why You Want to Listen: This really exciting! The Presets, always one of my faves, are back with their first album since 2012’s Pacifica. This Australian duo knows how to come up with cool songs, and guess what? They’ve done it again with song one, “Do What You Want,” off an upcoming 2018 album. And I also love this photo of them with assorted gummy candies on their faces. Yum.

English singer-songwriter Lucy Rose opened at the Neptune Theatre in support of her third studio album, Something’s Changing. The show was near the tail end of her North American tour with punk rocker Paul Weller. Backed by her two-member band on bass, piano, electric guitar and violin, Rose played both acoustic guitar and piano. Missed the show? Rose will be back in Seattle next March.

One day before Halloween in 2016, the wonderful and varied K.Flay performed at Barboza. This year has been very good for her, as she’s released her second album, Every Where Is Some Where, and grabbed an opening slot for Imagine Dragons. She’s also given back; proceeds from her book, Crush Me Book, benefit three organizations to help battle homelessness and child abuse. Well done. For her Seattle date, she was joined by Nightly and Layne. Here we are, with a very special part 16 of Back Beat Seattle’s Memory Lane Series.

Swedish singer-songwriter LÉON played at the Crocodile Café during a stop in her North American headlining tour. Backed by a three member band, she’s on the road in support of her latest EP, Treasure. It was nice to have LÉON back in Seattle only six weeks after her appearance at Bumbershoot.

Los Angeles-based electro-pop artist Elohim played at Showbox at the Market. On tour with Alison Wonderland, she made a stop in Seattle in support of her self-titled album. Characteristic of the mysterious Elohim, her face was hidden during her entire set.
