New Yorkers Glassjaw appeared at the Showbox on July 15th as part of their co-headlining tour with Quicksand (we’ll have photos of Quicksand in a separate post). We’re happy to share Monica Martinez’s always imaginative photos of the band, whose latest video, “my conscience weighs a ton,” finds them wandering in deserts and cornfields. And hey, we’re not pushing their new album, Material Control, out of any request to do so. It’s just really brilliant.

Why You Want to Watch: Miami’s City Girls surround their fine selves with candy, dogs, cool locales and cute boys. The female duo, JT and Yung Miami, will be on a forced break, sadly, as JT will most likely be in prison until March 2020 due to a non-violent crime conviction.

Cut Chemist

Cut Chemist, real name Lucas MacFadden, made a visit to Seattle’s Nectar this spring. Well known as a member of Jurassic 5, the American producer now has two solo albums, including this year’s Die Cut. Jurassic 5 fans will be happy to see “Work My Mind” on the album, a collaboration with Chali 2na. Another very cool project of Cut Chemist is his own radio show over on dublab. Check it out.
