Those fortunate enough to have tickets for KT Tunstall’s sold-out show at the Tractor Tavern last week (5/4) got a special treat with Meiko being a last-minute addition to the lineup. Didn’t have a ticket? She’ll be back in town at The Toast Of The Cascades on July 16 at the Snoqualmie Casino.
It’s no surprise that KT Tunstall’s show at the Tractor Tavern (cap. 300) sold out in minutes. Her solo tour in small venues stopped in Seattle on Wednesday (5/4) in support of her third full-length album, Tiger Suit, and just released EP, Scarlet Tulip.
The British indie pop girl group, The Pipettes, played at the Croc last night (5/1) in support of their latest release, Earth vs. The Pipettes. Sisters Gwenno and Ani Saunders were backed by an all-male band, The Cassettes. Their last Seattle visit in November, 2007 was also at the Croc (version 1.0 at the time).
During her tour of sold out shows, British musician and BRIT awards winner Ellie Goulding performed at Neumos on Monday night. There was a huge line to meet Ellie after her set and to purchase her debut CD, Lights. \
As mentioned in yesterday’s post, Greg Laswell and Lenka are co-headlining on their current tour together. At Monday’s show at the Crocodile Cafe, Greg was up first and was accompanied by Austin Hartley-Leonard on cello and guitar.
