Jane Monheit played the her first of five shows at Jazz Alley on Friday evening. Accompanied by Michael Kanan (piano), Neal Miner (bass) and husband Rick Montalbano (drums), Jane sang a number of songs off her latest album, Home, as well as a beautiful rendition of “Over The Rainbow.”
I had the treat of back-to-back nights at the Triple Door this past week – Lisa Loeb on Wednesday, then the blonde-haired, blue-eyed Lucy Woodward on Thursday. I saw Lucy for the first time at SXSW 2010 and have caught several of her shows in Seattle since. Always a pleasure.
Vocalist Lucy Woodward performed for a packed Jazz Alley audience on Monday in support of Hooked, her third album. She and her four-piece band wowed the crowd with a combination of jazz, pop and soul. As seen in the following photos, Lucy had some great expressions during her set.
