Music would be puny today if there hadn’t been Paul Oakenfold. The idea of there not being trance? Well, it just upsets me. Oakenfold had no problem selling out every single spot available in Seattle’s King Cat Theater for his October appearance, and the audience was there to dance and trance the hell out. It was inspiring to hear a DJ set that seemed to become a living, breathing thing. Each pulse was like a building block of energy, creating intense and all-encompassing sounds.
