Hercules and Love Affair were at Neumos last week and just spread all sorts of joy and excitement. The man behind it all, Andrew Butler was joined by singers Kim Ann Foxman, Aerea Negrot and Shaun J. Wright. Each singer brought unique presence and talent to all the songs. What a great treat it was to experience that high energy all night. Butler didn’t explain why he had a tampon (that’s what he said – he said it was a tampon) between his lips. Whatever the reason, it was definitely different. Anti-smoking device? I loved every bit of this show and am relieved to have seen them finally – and anxious to them again. Opening for Hercules and Love Affair was Cybertramp, a Seattle band and 2 DJs, who were totally enjoyable and did a fabulous cover of Supertramp’s “The Logical Song,” and Seattle’s soon-to-be New York’s equally fabulous DJ Colby B.
