Los Angeles’ Magic Giant, an energetic and multi-instrumental band if there ever was one, headlined the Crocodile in February. The trio includes mandolin, cello, upright bass and many other sounds in their music. Check out their music for sure to hear what they are about. Unfortunately their April tour just got postponed, but look out for rescheduled dates!
Artist: Rachael Sage Details: Rachael Sage’s newest release, Character, features an awesome photograph by photographer Bill Bernstein. The red, black and white contrasts are so crisp in this one. A New Yorker as is Sage, Bernstein is known for his photos of Paul McCartney, among other wonderful subjects.
The show must go on! Despite a broken foot, Tove Lo played a sold-out show at the Showbox SoDo, midway through her Sunshine Kitty Tour. While the cast didn’t slow her down very much, she did take periodic breaks in her “throne”. Opener Alma joined Tove for a song.
More than 7,000 people packed Seattle Center for Senator
Elizabeth Warren’s presidential campaign event on Saturday, February 22, 2020.
An overflow space with a video feed was set up at Fisher Pavilion, and Warren
briefly addressed the audience there in person before she proceeded to the main
event at the Armory. Warren opened the evening by saying, “I think Seattle is
ready for some big structural change,” which was met with cheers. She then
congratulated Senator Bernie Sanders on his Democratic caucus win in Nevada,
and launched into a scathing critique of opponent Michael Bloomberg. Warren’s
45-minute appearance included prepared remarks plus an audience Q&A. She closed
by noting the importance of the 2020 elections and calling for action: “When
there is fear, when there is so much at risk, do we back up, do we cower, or do
we fight back? Me, I fight back. … Get in this fight.” Warren invited the
audience to queue up after the event for selfies—she has taken more than
100,000 during her campaign.
