Paul McCartney is back! McCartney’s Got Back tour brings his superb music to Seattle. I caught his most current Seattle shows and I mentioned before they were some of the best moments of my life. If you’re a fan, and for some reason or other you’ve been undecided about whether catching McCartney live: GO. He’s one of those musicians whom you’ll appreciate even more as you share him with a large audience. It’s an amazing communal experience. Also, I’m looking at a recent set list and spotting “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!” on it. Yes please, absolutely! The show is sold out, although if you were smart, you got your tickets in February. The lucky news is that there appear to be a few tickets popping up in resale here (Monday) & here (Tuesday). LOVE!

Ministry just completed their North American tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the perfect album, The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste. The final, and Seattle date awesomely included tracks from that release, such as “Burning Inside” and “Thieves.” The show also included Ministry performing behind a fence. After rescheduling the tour due to COVID-19, The Industrial Strength Tour welcomed openers Melvins (who have an impressive milestone lined up for next year) and Corrosion of Conformity.

Parcels & Mildlife @ the Showbox – 3/1/22

Australia’s Parcels, a quintet who caught the ear of Daft Punk, visited Seattle in March to headline the Showbox. The band moved to Berlin, Germany, shortly after forming, and landed contracts with French labels Kitsuné and Because Music (very nice). Parcels have described their music as “Cowboy Disco,” a genre that just sounds great and delivers. Fellow Australians Mildlife were the openers.

Singer-songwriters Sarah Darling and Julie Lavery kicked-off their two-month-long US tour at the High Dive in Seattle’s Fremont district. With their beautiful harmonies, you’d never know that the Nashville-based duo paired up specifically for the tour and have separate music careers.  And if we’re lucky, they’ll continue to take advantage of the synergy long after they’re back home.
