Dropkick Murphys and Rancid held a co-headlining tour, Boston to Berkeley II, this fall. With the Bronx starting things off, this made a killer group of bands to catch at once. You have your Celtic punk and punk rock all sorted with these guys. Look for Dropkick Murphys and the Bronx to have more dates in separate tours next year, while we’re waiting for Rancid to head back out on the road. We hope. Thanks to Charitie Myers for getting these cool photos.

Experimental Electronic artist Yves Tumor released their fourth album, Heaven to a Tortured Mind, last year. This summer we got an EP called The Asymptotical World from them. Much appreciated! After getting their start in the American electropop scene, Yves Tumor (alias for Sean Bowie), signed to the record label PAN in 2016, followed by signing with WARP Records in 2017. Now based in Turin, Italy, Tumor worked with producer Justin Raisen on two of their most recent works. For their Seattle date, Tumor had British-Swedish multihyphenate Ecco2K, as opener.

Singer-songwriter and former model Kacy Hill played at the Vera Project.  Seattle was one of the initial stops on her first headlining tour, the Simple, Sweet and Selfish Tour, in support of her new album.  The expressive Hill, accompanied by her keyboard, performed with a backdrop of videos whose content matched the soft mood of her music.  We took a few minutes afterward for photos outside in the chilly Seattle rain.

Cool Cover: Jaded Star’s Realign

Artist: Jaded Star
Album: Realign
Details: Jaded Star, a heavy metal quarter originating in Greece, selected artist Jon Toussas for their album Realign. Toussas is a fellow Greek who has designed other Jaded Star’s covers, including Realign‘s first single, “Breathing Fire. ” I like the shards of whatever this robot? statue? is made of compared to the smooth lines of the figure. And that planet crashing into? combining with? the figure is just too weird.

English band Wolf Alice – formed originally by Ellie Rowsell and Joff Oddie – performed a headlining show in Seattle on Monday. In just eleven years, Wolf Alice have released three albums, each one nominated for the Mercury Prize, with 2018’s Visions of a Life winning! They’ll be touring the States through November, but they’ll get Halloween off. They’re looking for Halloween costume suggestions on their Twitter.

The Blossom, also known as Lily Lizotte, opened. From Sydney, Lizotte is a non-binary artist based in Los Angeles.
