The Magic Mirrors know how to do it right. What a pleasure it was to see this band play the Rendezvous, a sumptuous location in Seattle, on New Year’s Eve Eve . . . The quartet is working on new material, and for December’s show they introduced new drummer, Jordan Schenstead.
If you missed Adam Lambert on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night, here’s video of Lambert performing his new song, “Better Than I Know Myself.” Adam Lambert’s second album, Trespassing, will see a March 20th, 2012 release.

Gringo Star, a quartet from Atlanta, has a new video for “Count Yer Lucky Stars,” the title track from their latest album. I’ve been listening to this album a lot, and recommend it.

I saw Dead Sara open for Bush last year. This is one powerful band, and they announced today they’ll be on Vans Warped Tour in 2012. Enjoy “Weatherman.”
Seattle singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile rang in 2012 at the Neptune. We’re so happy we got photographer Amy Elyse in there to take some stunning photos of Carlile, who now has four albums, including the album Live at Benaroya Hall with the Seattle Symphony under her belt. Carlile will spend much of February 2012 touring in the South.
Photographer Geoffrey Gribbin was everywhere during the 2011 Decibel Festival. In addition to his coverage of Moby, which we featured earlier, he captured so many other great shots. Thank you to Decibel Festival for allowing us to shoot away during the festivities. Also, ace puppy snaps, Geoffrey.
New Year’s Eve saw Seattle’s Ivan & Alyosha opening for Brandi Carlile at the Neptune. We’ll have photographer Amy Elyse’s photos of Brandi Carlile up for you very soon – first up we’ve got some of Elyse’s gorgeous Ivan & Alyosha shots. Their EP, Fathers Be Kind, was one of last year’s best releases. You can check out Back Beat Seattle’s prior coverage of the band here.
