Los Angeles’ Foster the People cruised through Seattle on October 9th with a boisterous show at Showbox SoDo. This band’s songs, either fast-paced or slower-paced, are just great. I’d recommend seeing this band as often you as can – they are all around awesome. If you missed October’s show you’ll get you chance to see them – and hear songs like “Helena Beat” – when they return for Deck the Ball on December 7th.

Kitten, a band with probably the best band name ever as far as I am concerned, were at Neumos on October 3rd with Electric Six and Mark Mallman. Sure Electric Six headlined, but they are not named Kitten, and even though they’ve got brilliant songs, they do not yet have a song called “Kitten With a Whip” (I still wouldn’t rule it out). Kitties come first! A big thank you to photographer Simon Krane for snapping this hotness:

Montreal’s Chromeo brought their funky sound, complete with fancy keyboard/leg apparatus, to Showbox SoDo on October 10th. They also brought Mayer Hawthorne along for support. We got photographer Geoffrey Gribbin in to get some wonderful photos of the duo Chromeo and Mayer Hawthorne as they captivated the audience:

Colbie Caillat returned to Seattle for a show on October 7th at Showbox SoDo. The Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter released her third album, All of You, in July 2011. Without further ado, enjoy some lovely shots by Kirk Stauffer:

Moroccan/Parisian musician Hindi Zahra appeared at the Triple Door in Seattle on October 4th. The show was part of Zahra’s first tour of the States. Her American debut album, Handmade is out now. For those of you headed to CMJ, Hindi Zahra plays Hiro Ballroom on October 19th.
