So Pitted

Congratulations to Upstream Music Festival, who celebrated its second year in June, 2018. For day one, we’ve got photos of Colleen Green, So Pitted, Dryland, Brackets and Blood Drugs. Most of these bands are signed on Seattle labels, and Brackets will be at this year’s Freakout Fest in November. We’ll also have days two & three up shortly, so stay tuned!

Australian singer-songwriter Julia Jacklin is on the road with First Aid Kit and recently made a stop in Seattle. She played a solo set at the Paramount Theatre in support of her sophomore album, Eastwick / Cold Caller. A few more shows in the US, then it’s off to Europe for shows that have already sold out.

Danish singer-songwriter Agnes Obel played at a rare seated show at the Showbox at the Market. Her North American tour made a stop in support her recent album, Late Night Tales. The backing trio played cello, mellotron, percussion and keys, and all three also sang. Local Olympia-based Micaiah Sawyer opened for the very receptive audience.

Edie Brickell & New Bohemians

Edie Brickell & New Bohemians begin the west coast part of their fall tour at the Showbox on Monday, October 15th. Just last week, the Dallas band released Rocket, their first album in twelve years! Along with the New Bohemians, Brickell has had great success as a solo artist, even writing Bright Star, a musical with Steve Martin. Brickell has stayed involved with her former bandmates, recently telling Billboard, “I want to show how great this band is.” We want to see that! This show will let us all enjoy that connection and that lovely voice of Brickell’s.
