Why You Want to Watch: The self-directed video from Faye Webster features her living some dreams, including hula dancing and synchronized swimming. And playing guitar on the beach as the surf comes in. All so lovely. Hunter Airheart filmed the video, who also filmed Webster’s video for “Kingston.” That one had pink flamingos in it! Webster will be in Seattle on April 2nd, opening for Stella Donnelly at Barboza.
Mandy Harvey – America’s Got Talent 2017 Golden Buzzer recipient – recently headlined at the Triple Door in Seattle. Deaf since age 18, Harvey came onstage and promptly removed her shoes so she could feel the vibrations from her band’s music in the floor. When she wasn’t accompanying herself on the ukulele, she would sign the words she was singing. Joe Harvey, Mandy’s dad, came onstage and played guitar near the end of the show. The evening ended with a well-deserved standing ovation.

Jazz drummer extraordinaire Antonio Sánchez comes to Seattle’s Jazz Alley on Tuesday March 19th and Wednesday March 20th. The Mexican American musician and composer recently released the critically acclaimed political album Lines in the Sand, which tells the stories of migrants and the injustices at the U.S.–Mexico border. You might have recognized Sánchez as the composer of the award-winning soundtrack for Birdman, or heard his innovative improvised live performance along with the film at the Neptune Theatre last year. This time, Sánchez will be joined by his band Migration—keyboardist John Escreet, bassist Matt Brewer, vocalist Thana Alexa, and tenor saxophonist Chase Baird.
