The British indie pop girl group, The Pipettes, played at the Croc last night (5/1) in support of their latest release, Earth vs. The Pipettes. Sisters Gwenno and Ani Saunders were backed by an all-male band, The Cassettes. Their last Seattle visit in November, 2007 was also at the Croc (version 1.0 at the time).
During her tour of sold out shows, British musician and BRIT awards winner Ellie Goulding performed at Neumos on Monday night. There was a huge line to meet Ellie after her set and to purchase her debut CD, Lights. \
As mentioned in yesterday’s post, Greg Laswell and Lenka are co-headlining on their current tour together. At Monday’s show at the Crocodile Cafe, Greg was up first and was accompanied by Austin Hartley-Leonard on cello and guitar.
Lenka was second up at The Croc on Monday night at a stop during her co-headline tour with Greg Laswell. I was able to grab an advance copy of her upcoming album Two – before they sold out – due to be released on April 19.
During the first of six shows at Jazz Alley, Madeleine Peyroux previewed a number of new songs from Standin’ On The Rooftop scheduled to be released on June 7, and played old favorites such as “Don’t Wait Too Long” and “Dance Me To The End Of Love”.
