Happy Birthday to me! Brent Amaker and the Rodeo played their second to last show on July 12th at the Tractor Tavern before they went on a break. Naturally I was there to celebrate my birthday at this show as midnight hit. Bunny Monroe performed, bassist Cinderella danced and got naked, fans underwent whiskey baptisms, and the entire group had the audience’s attention. Did they ever. I am going to miss this band – one I have seen many times – so much it rather hurts. Fingers crossed they will have something up their cowboy sleeves next year. Amaker is not going into hiding though; rather, he’s got a new and also very cool project with Vox Mod called Android Amaker. They’ll have their first show at Neumos on November 7th.
