Show Previews: Great Big Sea @ the Moore, Fri. 3/8; Vigilante Santos @ the White Rabbit, Sat. 3/9

Canadians Great Big Sea, on their 20th Anniversary Tour, return to Seattle for a show at the Moore on Friday, March 8th. We’re lucky to have them drop by our city. Back in 2010 photographer Kirk Stauffer caught their show at Woodland Park Zoo – I’d guess tomorrow’s show should be quite the compelling retrospective of their songs . . . and there are many songs to pick from! Great Big Sea has also arranged some of their favorites and new songs on a new album, XX. For more details on the show and to purchase tickets, follow this link. And I’d recommend getting to the Moore early as shows sometimes begin earlier than scheduled at that venue!

On Saturday evening, March 9th, the White Rabbit in Fremont hosts Vigilante Santos‘ release party for their new album, Illuminate in the Dark. Vigilante Santos has to be one of my favorite band names I’ve come across in some time. Plus the sextet sound wonderful. And check out the fabulous event poster. The group’s music is what I’d immediately call pretty, as in it’s just damned lovely, and I was lucky to receive a copy of Illuminate in the Dark, a delicious gem of an album. Well done, Vigilante Santos!
