This year’s City Arts Fest begins on Wednesday, October 17th with performances by David Byrne, St. Vincent, Pollens and more. The first day of the four day festival begins with The Cellar Door at 8 PM at All Pilgrims. This is the first piece of four where I’ll be highlighting bands from each day of the festival. There’s a lot to choose from.
8:00 – The Cellar Door @ All Pilgrims
Check out the lovely song “Spring” and see what I mean.

8:30 – David Byrne & St. Vincent @ the 5th Avenue Theater
Byrne and St. Vincent created an album together, and called it Love This Giant. I’m guessing we’ll hear quite a bit of it live. Will be brilliant.

9:00 – Western Haunts @ Barboza
This band sounds groovy. You probably like groovy. Listen to “Capitol Fires” – great vocals, right?
—
9:45 – The Synthony @ Barboza
Huh. More great vocals. I am liking this.
—
11:15 – Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band @ Barboza
The always popular band released their second EP this year (they’ve also got two LPs under their belt). You can listen to it right over here. And, again with the great voices!
