On Tuesday, June 5th, Barboza will host a tribute to Jason Molina, the mastermind of Magnolia Electric Co. and Songs: Ohio. Artists such as Pickwick, Jason Dodson (The Maldives), Cataldo, Lotte Kestner, Joshua Morrison and
Cumulus are set to perform songs by both bands. Molina has faced some health issues but is doing what he needs to do to get better, and according to his label, Secretly Canadian, he’s recuperating by “working on a farm in West Virginia raising goats and chickens for the next year or so. . . looking forward to making great music again.”
Tix are available for $8 and the money goes to help Molina with health bills. As we know those can be catastrophically expensive. Get well Molina!
On Wednesday night WaMu Theater gets Chickenfoot, on their Different Devil Tour, and Black Stone Cherry. I like that Chickenfoot named their second album Chickenfoot III. There’s something kind of funny about that. I have it on good authority this will be a very fun show and you can see what the big deal is about this supergroup of Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani and Chad Smith for yourself. Openers Black Stone Cherry are riding high on their excellent song, “White Trash Millionaire.”
7:30 PM – tix are $45 or $55.
