Within the last four months LMFAO’s 2009 release, Party Rock has become a constant listen on my iPod. Though not my typical genre of choice, I became a fan due to the right amount of elctro-hop and humor.
If you are a fan like I am, seeing their show at the Showbox Sodo on November 12th should make your must-do list. Though the crowd waited through three hours of DJs, LMFAO made it worth the wait once the band hit the stage with their energy-driven performance. Supported by their male backup dancer (along with scantily clothed females sporting LMFAO polka dot bikinis) LMFAO covered most tracks off Party Rock. My personal highlights of the show were when LMFAO played their hit Shots – armed with bottles of Grey Goose, they made their rounds across the front of the stage, pouring vodka into the mouths of the 21+ crowd standing up front – oh, and both Sky Blu and Redfoo’s sweet dance moves! Least favorite part of the show: girl-on-girl fights. Hair pulling, eye scratching, punches to the face. . . which I’m pretty confident in saying was due to the fact that most everyone in the crowd was heavily intoxicated in lieu of Halloween festivities.
